Our little sunshine has been helping out all over the house! He has made dinner, put dishes away, done plenty of laundry, vacuumed, and even completed a plumbing job! Of course, with all these chores and other activities (nursing, napping & changing), I knew he needed to indulge in a creative outlet as well. Luckily, I had promised to make a set of mother/daughter Christmas aprons for a birthday gift. Owen and I wanted to get them done in time, so we set out to work on some ironing, cutting and sewing together in the craft room.
He was a snuggly distraction at times, that’s for sure, so the project took a while due to increased baby-staring.
He did take a few breaks, to catch some baby dreams and stretch his tiny little self all around. Of course, this too increased baby-staring.
Finally, we got the apron set done! Hopefully mama and daughter will have fun creating their own sweet memories of making together this holiday. The delight of spending time with your child is the best feeling in the world.

Adorable aprons!! What a cute distraction you had in the process! I love the pictures in the Moses basket. I too would be doing some Owen staring. Keep on sewing with Owen, love and hugs!
Best Blog Post Title Ever!! It made me wonder if there was a reason you named him that… I’m glad you guys are having so much time craftin’ it up! He looks so precious in his basket. poke poke.
*fun, not time
I agree with Caitie there…love the title, but made me wonder if there was a reason behind his name. Haha! I can’t wait to meet the little guy…
Joy you must be in heaven! I just love reading about you and Owen. Sure miss you at the station!
Cait and Sue–thanks to “Hop on Pop” we’ve been rhyming around here plenty! And, Owen works well with many other words–growin, goin, showin, explodin, etc. He’s lucky that mama & daddy like to make up songs, huh?
Owen is precious and you have clearly taken to motherhood with ease. So happy for you and hopefully we’ll get to meet the little one sometime soon!
He’s adorable in his Moses basket
And those mother and daughter aprons came out beautifully! Seriously, you should make more of those for your craft fair next year!!
