2010 studio (post 1)

January 24th, 2010 by joy

Caught up in the “newness” that January brings, we have been busy working on this little house. Re-organizing, donating, moving, re-purposing…the list (and oh man, there is a LIST) goes on.  I have spent the most time in the studio–working to make the space inspiring, functional, and tidy.  Kevin has pointed out that to me, this means, cover everything in fabric. Well, here are a few newly crafted (fabric!) solutions that I am so happy to have:

Hanging on the end of my project table: a spot for scissors, rotary cutters, and marking tools.  The items I seem to reach for most often when working on a sewing project.

And, right behind the table, I stitched up two wall pockets, to stash paper cutting tools, punches, stencils, and whatever else will fit!

I had so much fun dreaming up these designs, and figuring out how to construct them.  It’s great to reach into the big scrap box and then create something. Once Kevin gets a chance to put down the paintbrush, I’ll have him take some better pictures of other projects and changes in the studio.  Hope your week is full of creativity, too.
